Evaluation Kit: ATMBCN-3202-SS

Contact Atmosic Sales Buy now from Mouser ATMBCN-3202-SS The ATMBCN-3202-SS is a basic reference design using the ATM3202 SoC. The design is a Photovoltaic (PV) Bluetooth LE beacon created to demonstrate how the energy harvesting capabilities of the Atmosic ATM3 series device can use indoor lighting conditions and either offer extended battery life over that of other beacon designs or used to implement a fully battery-free beacon. The beacon supports a default once-per-second beacon interval at low (~200 lux) indoor light levels. In general, the required light levels needed for PV-based beacons will depend on the beacon rate and size of the PV cell.  This design leverages a basic 10.9 cm2 Panasonic AM-1454 Amorphous Silicon PV cell and a 33mF supercapacitor to store any excess energy. An optional CR1616 coin cell battery can be used to power the device when ambient light is unavailable and the supercapacitor is depleted.   There is no rechargeable battery option implemented in this design. The SDK offers two pre-built images so developers can test the unit with the onboard sensors enabled or disabled so that they can also see the performance with and without the power overhead of Temperature/Humidity and accelerometer-type sensors. The ATMBCN-3202-SS…
